In the year 1875, a remarkable individual named Nick Dionisio was born. As he grew up, he developed into an intelligent young man with a strong desire to work alongside his father, who played a pivotal role in the community by and delivering ice using a horse and wagon. The two of them worked countless hours serving their neighbors and establishing a reputation for their commitment to community. Fast forward to the early 1900s, Nick welcomed his son William into the world. Just like his father before him, William grew up helping Nick with the family business, which involved the sale and delivery of ice and coal and via horse and wagon. William was a dedicated young man, known for his honesty and strong work ethic, and he was ready to take the next step in his life.
In 1936, with a firm handshake, William made a significant decision to purchase a fuel truck, marking the establishment of his own company, Wm Dionisio. This was a pivotal moment as he transitioned from selling ice to providing essential heating services to the community, quickly becoming successful by ensuring residents stayed warm during the cold winter months, while building a solid reputation in Astoria, Queens. His commitment to quality and integrity led to the growth of his company. In 1945, William decided to re name his business as Atomic Fuel, becoming well-known for running a dependable and honest heating oil company. The following years brought personal milestones as, in 1953, William and his wife welcomed their first son, Willy, followed by George in 1956. As the two boys grew up, they gradually involved in the family business, learning the ropes from their father.
It wasn't until 1978 that Willy and George began working full-time with their father. George took on the role of a boiler mechanic, while Willy was responsible for driving the fuel truck. Together, the trio worked tirelessly to strengthen and expand the family business. By around 1980, William decided it was time to pass the family business, Atomic Fuel, to his two sons. They took the initiative to rename it to Atomic Fuel Oil Company and set out to grow the company further. With multiple fuel trucks and service vehicles, they focused on delivering the best possible service in Astoria and the surrounding boroughs, continuing the legacy of hard work and community dedication established by their father and grandfather.
